Paradigm™ offers two complementary solutions for velocity modeling for seismic imaging purposes. The first one, Paradigm GeoDepth®, makes direct use of grid and multi-z picking values to construct the framework in which velocity properties can be inserted. This is sufficient for low to medium complexity environments.

Where there is significant complexity and a need for a perfectly seamless model to accomodate high-precision ray tracing, the Paradigm SKUA® velocity package introduces extraordinary capabilities that significantly impact the resulting imaging processes.

The wide range of powerful yet easy-to-use velocity modeling methods offered by SKUA enable accurate, efficient and productive time-to-depth conversion.  These include advanced tools and a user-friendly depth conversion process.  Unlike other solutions where structural complexity is quickly a limiting factor and where the approach incorporates simple layering, SKUA velocity modeling enables accurate time-to-depth conversion in salt and structurally complex environments, making use of 3D operations that honor the stratigraphy and faults.
