Paradigm EarthStudy 360 wins the Best Exploration Technology award
(HOUSTON: October 17, 2016)
) announced today that the Paradigm EarthStudy 360®
full-azimuth angle domain imaging and analysis solution, has won the 2016 World Oil award for Best Exploration Technology. The announcement was made at the 2016 World Oil Awards Gala
in Houston on October 13.
was named the Best Exploration Technology for its innovative approach to high-resolution seismic imaging and interpretation of diffraction energy. This approach was developed to recover high-resolution data that is either underutilized or lost with standard seismic imaging procedures. The innovative processing method can recover and separate specular and different types of diffraction energy from recorded seismic data. The process maps and decomposes the fully recorded seismic wavefield into angle/azimuth components, in-place and in-depth, without integration or stacking, so that the lower energy associated with subsurface diffractions can be isolated and subsequently enhanced. This procedure is applicable to all exploration and field development projects. It provides an optimal platform for building azimuthally anisotropic, plausible geological models, which can lead to accurate seismic interpretation for risk-managed field development.
“Paradigm is proud that our EarthStudy 360 solution has been awarded the 2016 World Oil Awards in the Best Exploration Technology category,” said Zvi Koren, Paradigm CTO and inventor. “As a leader in subsurface imaging solutions, we continually invest in innovation and strive to provide technologies that break down barriers in traditional seismic methodologies, to deliver more informative results to geoscientists and oil finders.”
