Determin is a comprehensive suite of individual deterministic modules ranging from environmental corrections to pay summary reporting.
The Determin Uncertainty add-on tool is used to quantify uncertainty associated with deterministic petrophysical interpretation. Based on Monte Carlo processing, Determin allows the user to assign uncertainties and uncertainty distributions to input variables and log values during analysis.
The full distribution of the petrophysical curves can be transferred from Geolog to the Paradigm SKUA®/GOCAD® system for integration into a reservoir uncertainty analysis using the Reservoir Risk Assessment (Jacta®) module.
Determin modules are written in Loglan, Geolog’s powerful programming language. This simple language gives log analysts the freedom to customize modules to meet their needs or incorporate local or proprietary algorithms. An option is available for work in interactive mode, enabling automatic updates of all relevant calculations when values are changed on screen.
Multimin is an optimizing tool for statistically determining mineral and fluid characteristics and volumes from petrophysical data, such as logs, cores, XRD, and petrographic data. Embedded Monte Carlo Uncertainty analysis enables the petrophysicist to assess overall uncertainty on an analysis and identify variables with the greatest impact.
Full Waveform Sonic
The full waveform sonic processing module is used to process and interpret array sonic logs, from raw data to results, including slowness frequency analysis, dispersion correction and anisotropy processing for maximum stress direction determination.
The NMR module enables vendor-independent, high-end processing, quality control, interpretation, and modeling of NMR logs, including 2D NMR. With multiple inversion options, users are free to investigate relationships between the measured data and their reservoir.
Pore Pressure Prediction
A log-based Pore Pressure Prediction module provides tools to predict pore and fracture pressure profiles in wells based on logging data. Following data preparation and compaction trend analysis, the Geolog pore pressure prediction module calculates hydrostatic pressure, overburden pressure, pore pressure, and fracture pressure in a single multi-tab program. The entire pore pressure prediction workflow is consolidated into one integrated Loglan, for optimal efficency.
Enables interpretation in high-angle/horizontal wells, providing greater understanding of the interaction between formation and fluids in wells of this type.
Unconventional Shale Petrophysics
