Abstract

In the current O&G environment, it is increasingly important to provide an accurate description of reservoir properties, in order to optimize production over the lifetime of the field. This requires the assessment of log, core, seismic and production data, as well as experience and local expertise. The current work context reflects this, with multidisciplinary teams now being the norm in O&G companies. To complement this deployment, advanced technology is an essential tool.

The need to handle large volumes of data means that geophysical techniques, such as rock properties estimation supported by simultaneous or prestack inversion for compressional impedance, shear impedance, density and lambda-mu-rho, and other dependent attributes, have rapidly evolved into standard techniques. The technical boundary between AVO, seismic inversion, understanding of the medium anisotropy through VVAZ and AVAZ workflows for fracture characterization, and prestack/poststack interpretation techniques needs to be eliminated to gain insights into asset productivity.

This presentation will show how Paradigm Quantitative Seismic Interpretation responds to these challenges, helping you better evaluate the probability of drilling success.
