Hydrocarbon production from maturing basins is constantly declining, and new frontiers are both harder to find and have complex geology. Operators are continuously looking for opportunities to maximize recovery from existing fields. Subsurface models are instrumental to optimizing recovery from these fields. Calibrating the models to production data can help characterize the model, resulting in more realistic production forecasts. This calibration process is known as history matching, whereby uncertain parameters in the numerical reservoir models are iteratively adjusted to create a collection of models which capture the uncertainty.
In this webinar we present Tempest ENABLE, an assisted history matching tool that can help ease this time-consuming process and identify multiple calibrated models critical for reliable production forecast.
Usman Aslam is a Senior Reservoir Engineer who has worked with Emerson Roxar in various roles over the past eight years in Europe and the US. Prior to joining Emerson, he worked as a Petroleum Engineer at Pakistan Petroleum Limited. He has a B.Sc. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore in Pakistan, and a M.Sc. degree in Reservoir Engineering from the University of Stavanger in Norway.
