The use of Data Analytics is one of the key trends emerging in the upstream and downstream industry.  With the increase in the amount of data and related knowledge at various scales, it becomes crucial to adopt a collaborative, interactive and efficient approach to get the most out of complex 3D models built by expert geoscientists, and maximize the understanding of plays with no additional work.  Although our industry uses massive amounts of data, we still face challenges, mainly due to a lack of openness and agility in traditional tools.  Better insight into models is key for streamlining the expert review of 3D models and for supporting efficient, objective and enlightened decisions. 

This presentation will demonstrate how the openness, flexibility and automation capabilities of the Emerson modeling suite enable an efficient and fit-for-purpose analysis to review key models’ characteristics, from regional to field compartment scale. As an example, we will demonstrate the power of the plugin Emerson modeling solution and TIBCO Spotfire® data visualization and analytics software.


Melanie_Morin_sm_white.jpgMélanie Morin leads the Emerson E&P Software Modeling and Reservoir Engineering Technical Services team in Europe. She is a specialist in geological modeling workflows and consultancy who has completed numerous geological modeling studies around the world in many types of geological environments. As a domain expert, she is responsible for promoting best practices, mentoring and training geomodelers. Mélanie holds a MSc degree in Geology from the National School of Geology in Nancy, France.

Camille_Cosson_sm.pngCamille Cosson is a geologist, with expertise in Petroleum Geoscience, Seismic Interpretation and Reservoir Modeling.  She holds a degree in Petroleum Geoscience and Engineering from the ENSG Ecole Nationale Superieur de Geology in Nancy, France.  In her current position, she is  responsible for promoting Emerson E&P Software solutions to the oil and gas industry, with an emphasis on Reservoir Modeling solutions.
